Desktop Applications

I've noticed Lately that I have slowly been migrating back to desktop applications. The online Applications are nice but they just don't have the feel and control that desktop based applications have. Also a lot of software nowadays is open source which means that you can edit it (give the right amount of skill) if you don't like a certain feature. There is also no advertising (the targeted stuff freaks me out).
